Sea Scout jersey can be bought for £30 from the Scout Shop in Elmbank Street, Glasgow, or you may prefer to save money and get one secondhand from Ebay, where they often go for about £5-10. As the youngsters move on up to Explorer Sea Scouts and change into the different uniform for that section, we encourage them to pass their jerseys back to the Sea Scout section for use by newcomers.

The Group will maintain a stock of hats for all sections, which will remain the property of the Group, although you can get your own hat if you wish. Again, Ebay is a good place to start, as new hats cost upwards of £30 (£40 through the scout shop).

Cap Tallies are £3

All items are available from the online scout store at http://www.scouting.outdoors.ltd.uk/acatalog/AirSeaScouts.html

Badge positions on the Sea Scout jersey, but note that the group name tab goes right up at the shoulder on both sides and the Scottish National badge (flag) goes immediately above the District and Area badges on the right arm. We do not wear the union flag shown here on the right side of the chest.

How to tie your Sea Scout Cap Tally

Step 1 Centre the cap tally with the first 'S' of Scouts directly below the front seam of the cap. At the left hand seam of the cap, tie an overhand knot making sure that the tally does not move.

Step 2 Form a bight by bending over the upper tail and folding it back on itself

Step 3 Take the lower tail an pass it under and then over this bight such that the tails end up next to each other.

Step 4 A bight is now formed in the right hand tail and should be tucked behind the first bight just before the centre of the bow.

Step 5Carefully tighten the knot, being careful to ensure that the bows are of the same length and are not too long.

Step 6 The tails can now be cut to the same length as the bows with the ends being trimmed at an angle.
